Lesson 12 of 12

Putting it on your menu

You have the skill now. This is how it becomes revenue.

What you will learn

  • Why aftercare should be part of the treatment, not an upsell
  • How to launch a new service properly
  • What consistency on social media actually means

Bundle the aftercare

Sell the treatment with the aftercare included rather than trying to add it at the till. The client leaves with everything they need to protect what they paid for, and you have made the sale without asking twice.

Educate, do not upsell

Tell clients why aftercare matters. You would not expect a cleaning at the dentist to keep your teeth healthy for a year. You brush every day. Whitening is the same. Put that way, aftercare stops being an extra and starts being obvious.

Put the products where they can be held

Keep one of each product in the treatment room. A client is far more likely to buy something they have picked up. Hand it to them at the end and explain what it does.

Launching it

  • Tease it first. Sneak peeks and behind the scenes shots before the launch, and an email to your list.
  • Ask early clients to share their results and repost them.
  • Run a launch event or a giveaway to create a reason to engage.
  • Offer a package or an introductory price so there is a reason to book now rather than later.
  • Post before and after photos. They do the selling for you.

Consistency

For the first three months, focus on the one new service. Pick a couple of features, say what they do for the client, and make booking easy. Two or three posts a week and a couple of stories a day.
